SALVAS Gum Smoke White Suede

I bought these as casual shoes, wanting leather because it's usually more 'wipe clean' and water resistant than other sneakers. On the positive side, they are comfortable, although a little wide (I use latex inserts to pad them out a bit for my thin feet). My disappointment is that the textured leather captures every bit of dust and dirt you encounter, and sticks there in the lines and grooves. Like just across the top toe area, not to mention each seam and the vertical grooves in the sole edging. So they don't wipe clean without a bit of running water and brushing. The tongue is made of fabric not leather, so dirt and grime stay on it and stain. And the laces are a wide, soft cotton that also seems especially susceptible to soaking up dust. This is all compared to my previous pair of white leather sneakers from another brand, which just had fewer places to catch the dirt so stayed fresher longer. The current dry weather and dusty ground is also not helping!
